A year after one of their identical twin daughters, Lydia, dies in an accident, Angus and Sarah Moorcraft move to the tiny Scottish island Angus inherited from his grandmother, hoping to put together the pieces of their shattered lives.

But when their surviving daughter, Kirstie, claims they have mistaken her identity—that she, in fact, is Lydia—their world comes crashing down once again.

As winter encroaches, Angus is forced to travel away from the island for work, Sarah is feeling isolated, and Kirstie (or is it Lydia?) is growing more disturbed. When a violent storm leaves Sarah and her daughter stranded, Sarah finds herself tortured by the past—what really happened on that fateful day one of her daughters died?

I’ve been looking for a book like this for so long and I was so happy when I realized that I had it all along in my To Be Read List. How stupid I was that I kept it there without even looking at it? Haha, Anywho. What an awesome book!!!!

I absolutely loved it!

I am fascinated by twins and the fact that Kirstie and Lydia are identical twins in all the ways, made me love this book even more. I don’t want to be a spoiler but I kinda knew even from the beginning that there would be a dark secret about the accident. But, to be honest, I never really guess it! And I am happy about it! I read the last chapter twice because I couldn’t believe what my eyes were seeing. And I wear eyeglasses, haha.

This book made me feel so many things. I finished it yesterday but I couldn’t write a review about it until today. Because I didn’t know what I really feel.

To be honest I didn’t like the parents at all. I hate drunk people and must of the time they were drinking or fighting or ignoring each other. But I have to say that this made the story even more interesting.

I fell in love with the twins and with their relationship.

This is a truly intense psychological thriller and creepy and you must read it!
